Youth basketball coaching begins January 3

This is the time of the year when a flurry of sports activity, mostly aimed at the youth, happens.

Among the many sports events for youth this winter vacation, Youth Basketball Coaching will be held at the Changlingmithang ground in Thimphu from January 3 to January 30, 2012. It will also be held in Paro but the venue there is not yet confirmed.

Bhutan Basketball Federation (BBF), the organizer, said the coaching camp is aimed at promoting basketball and keeping the youth occupied during the vacation.

To be facilitated by four coaches from the US and a few Bhutanese coaches, the coaching camp will be given for two groups of youth – for those between 15 and 18 years of age and those below 15 years.

This year, Youth Basketball Coaching was held only in Thimphu Dzongkhag. In 2012, it will be held in Thimphu and Paro. And in 2013, the coaching will be taken to several dzongkhags, according to BBF.
