November 17, 2011The Thimphu district court on Tuesday sentenced a former BNB cashier to nine years in prison for embezzling Nu 2.5 million. Her husband has been sentenced to two months in prison for failure to report the crime.

i think 9 years is too long for such crime. The judiciary shouldn’t take corruption more seriously than murder. Then, BNB CEO and immediate boss should be given 4.5 years each sentenced for negligence of their responsibility.
