The Druk Star show has reached the top 10 stage. Deki Choden and Dophu were eliminated last week. Out of the 10 contestants, six are men and four, women. While five of them are students, one is a school dropout, two farmers, one housewife and another, a teacher. March 3 was not a usual day for 26 children of Drak Tsho Vocational Training Centre in Thimphu. It was their Happy Day organized by Group 4 Securicor (G4S). Two more eliminated from Druk Star

Karma Choden, 22, from Trashigang and Sonam Lham, 21, from Wangdue were eliminated from the Druk Star contest on February 16. The contest is now left with 16 contestants. 21-year-old Tandin Gyem from Wangdue was declared the Voice of the Week, which means even if she gets the lowest votes in the following week, she is safe. Of the 20 contestants in Druk Star, only 11 dzongkhags are represented. People from Trongsa are considered to have a good voice but there is none from Trongsa. Most of the contestants plan to bring out albums and work towards becoming professional singers if they win the contest.
