Bhutan won the Bhutan-Nepal Inter Club Friendship
January 20, 2012Bhutan won the Bhutan-Nepal Inter Club Friendship Golf Tournament at the Gokarna Golf Club on January 15. Out of 11 matches, Bhutan won seven and halved two to accumulate 16 points while Nepal won only two matches and halved two to accumulate six points.
A 25-year-old man was knifed on his face on the night of January 17 at Chanjalu in Thimphu. He was knifed on the left side of his face by two men. Suspects are still at large.
Gelephu police have detained three teenage girls and a man on January 18 following a complaint from a hotel they had been staying in. The girls were seen in Gelephu town since January 9 staying in different hotels. Police apprehended them after they learnt about a group of boys following the girls every night to different hotels. The man is suspected to be the girls’ partner.
An anthrax outbreak in Kumadzong village of Gongdue in Mongar has so far killed 11 cows. The outbreak was first reported by the villagers to the gewog livestock extension office in Daksa on January 13.
India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing into the multi-million lottery scam. According to IBN Live, CBI is trying to trace the agents in Bhutan and Sikkim involved in the biggest every lottery scam in India. It also said that CBI had requested the Bhutanese Government either to permit the CBI officials to investigate case in Bhutan or carry out its own investigation.
A 24-year-old man was stabbed by a 44-year-old man on the night of January 15.
A two-day Bhutan International Education Fair 2012 will be held from March 17 to March 18 at Changlingmithang Stadium Parking in Thimphu.
