Bhutan Star in top eight
December 9, 2011Bhutan Star singing show is now left with eight contestants.
Last weekend, Phuntsho Wangmo from Pemagatshel, who entered the contest through wildcard entry, was eliminated. She was the second and the last wildcard entry contestants to be eliminated from the show.
Last week, an emotional Kinley Penjor won the Voice of the Week after the title had been taken by 25-year-old Lhabchu from Paro for the fifth consecutive weeks. Because of his consecutive five wins of the title, Lhabchu has automatically booked a place among the top five contestants.
At the ninth episode of the show this weekend, another contestant will be eliminated.
Meanwhile, viewers say they haven’t been able to choose a particular favourite. They say this round of Bhutan Star has no contestant who is particularly strong in all the three genres – zhungdra, boedra and rigsar.
They also say that, unlike in the past, excitement is not building up as the show approaches its grand finale.
