Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother graced the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition as the Chief Guest, in Paro Ugyen Pelri Palace

1 April, 2015, Ugyen Pelri Palace, Paro: In a message granted for the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, His Majesty said: “Where we live must be clean, safe, organised, and beautiful, for national integrity, national pride, and for our bright future. This too is nation building.”

His Majesty The King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, and Members of the Royal Family graced the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, which was inaugurated by Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother, as the Chief Guest.

The Prime Minister, ministers and senior government officials, also attended the exhibition.

The Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, initiated upon the Royal Command of His Majesty The King, is envisioned to inspire appreciation for beautiful spaces, foster community vitality, and encourage the growth of a vibrant entrepreneurship in floriculture across the nation.

The first Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition is a celebration of our unique environmental and cultural heritage with the support and goodwill of our citizens from all walks of life. It symbolizes the strength of partnership and collaboration in defining a new vision that embodies wide ranging opportunities for our youth, florists and the economy at large.

The exhibition is dedicated to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, as part of His Majesty’s 60th Birth Anniversary celebrations. It will henceforth be held annually.

Her Majesty Gyalyum Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck is the Royal Patron for the Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition.

The exhibition displays creative installations incorporating flowers, as well as models of some of the most historic Bhutanese structures, such as Taktshang and Punakha Dzong.

Besides government organizations and armed forces, private nurseries and florists also participated in the exhibition.

The exhibition is open to the public, and concludes on 6th April.
