The league-cum-knockout tournament has three pools comprising 10 teams each.

In each game, the winners get six points, the first runners-up, four points and second runners-up, 2 or 3 points depending to the number of kareys.

Each team plays three matches in the group phase, and only four teams out of 10 will proceed to knockout round from each pool.

Daily, two matches are held in the morning and evening with three teams fighting for points in 15-round matches.

The tournament is organized in order to promote and enjoy the national game. It also aims to entertain the public and foster interaction among players, says Ugyen Tshering, Secretary of Phuentsholing Archery Federation. Each team paid an entry fee of Nu 8,000.

Why does the article not mention ‘Yangphel’ style? Why does the organiser not mention it? Why after copying the whole style including the pointing system not mention the source? Is that the gratitude?

The writer does understand that it is Yangphel style that tournament has copied including the scoring system – I hope.
