Without state funding, the parties would have to rely on other sources such as few wealthy individuals and emgering private enterprises to fund thier campaigns and other activities; and as such greater chance of thier execution of duties to be compromised when interests of thier fund sources are at stake

Political parties should receive state funding , if it is solely meant for the developement of the state , though as per their menefesto they might have promised a lot, but if their is no fund which is the fuel of all engine than i don’t think that developmental activities will take

As such, the need of state fund for the parties is found must from my point of view.

    Thanx.

The political parties namely DPT is using the Rich man (who was his supporter) now as a DANGER SYMBOL for the public and trying to get its hand on the PUBLIC’s money.

My personal feeling is that, now that DPTs supporters are not giving it money it is trying to get it hand on public funds by scaring the common man with the story of the dangerous rich man.

I am also of the opnion that we should be aware that this is only a ploy to ensure that new parties will never be able to challange DPT and they will rule for ever. This is not promoting Democracy but this is trying to create a dangerous fox in the guise of a sheep. Beware people, Do not fall for this trap otherwise we will be ruled for ever by this greedy bunch of people (remember 3 salary increase in 4 parliment sitting?)

I think in the present scenerio, it would be necessary for the state funding of political parties given the present condition of the parties. But, how much and for how long and the areas of utilisation needs to be there, otherwise the government at the helm could hijack the fund for their own furtherence.
This is important if we are to keep the democracy vibrant at the grassroot level. If democracy only means electing a government every five years, then why should the state fund parties which actually chewed more than what they could swallow in the first place. It is also absolutely important to ensure that such fundings are provided to other broad based political parties as well.

Cant really say. There are both pros and cons. CBS should conduct a research on this.

I do not believe that MORE tourism is good for Bhutan, I just love our culture and tradition and would love for it to be and stay preserved. Already, Bhutan is changing rapidly and not for the better.

Please now don’t bring politics in the life of common Drukpa People. Politics has been always dangerous for our people. In the name of democracy many bad things have happened from some selfish people. Druk Gyalkhab (Please use Druk Gyalkhap here after) is best with its kings and the world recognized philosophy of GNH and ONE NATION ONE PEOPLE. Remember There are three very intelligent men in the country-Druk Gyal Zhipa, PM Jigme Y. Thinley and Dasho Karma Ura. Druk Gyal Zhipa is the most committed man in the country followed by Dasho Karma Ura who can actually foretell the future of Kingdom for the next 100 years.

    Gomdar Kinley.
