Bhutan 40th on environmental index

Bhutan was ranked 40th out of 163 countries in the 2010 Environmental Performance Index (EPI) produced by a team of environmental experts at Yale University and Columbia University in the US. The results of the 2009 Bhu­tan Higher Secondary Edu­cation Certificate Examina­tions (BHSEC) show a slight improvement. The aggregate pass percentage has risen by 0.82 points, from 85.60 per­cent in 2008 to 87.35 percent in 2009.
