Bhutanese in New York marathon

1 November 2009

Rinzin Dorji, 34, will take part in ING New York City Marathon representing Bhutan for the first time in the 40th world’s greatest marathon on November 1. Rinzin Dorji said he was very nervous because it is his first time, and professional athletes from all over the world are taking part in it.
Rinzin Dorji is participating in the marathon through a private sponsor, Mr Ynaar.
The secretary general of BOC, Karma Wangchuk, said there are 15 federations in the country, and Rinzin Dorji is not associated with any one of these. “Marathons fall under Bhutan Amateur Athletic Federation and since he is running the marathon through a private sponsor, I have no comments.”
The one-day marathon is organised by New York Road Runners. The winner will receive more than US$ 600,000. The runners will cover 26 miles, which is almost 42 km.

    Hellow

Well, Mr Rinzin took part in the marathon here in New York and that’s ture and we are really proud of him, but one thing I didn’t like about this man, he has sent his picture with the medals in kuenselonline. And we know that ING marathon in New york didn’t award him any kind of medal, I’m really surprised to see his picture with medal in kuenselonline this is really crazy,42000 peoples took part in the marathon but one has been awarded with medals accipt the winners than how come Mr rinzin was the only participant to be warded with the fake medal….we BHutanese are proud of him, but at same time we feel little disappointed with him for making a story which is not ture and sending the picture with the medal in kuenselonline…..so I would like to say some lines to Mr rinzin, it was a great job done by you butin future don’t make a mistake to fall down urself… So all the best and I know now you ill be back to ur normal business, working……!

I was born with no hatred mind nor with unpleasant words and thats what makes me happy to be living as a human. Rinzin Rinzin, this is a cruel world and negativity is the only path to success and accept the fact that you have succeeded. You have uncountable proof to show – Your Medal / Certificate from NYRR 2009, officials from NYRR office, NY, Bhutanese people in Bhutan and in New York. Rinzin Rinzin, walk the street with your head held high. We know that you participated, received Medal & Certificate and walked away with a big smile.

    Congrats Rinzin Rinzin
