Three to be charged today

Two IT personnel and a tour operator, who were earlier arrested by Thimphu police for leaking a pornographic clip of a Bhutanese couple, will be charge sheeted today at the Thimphu Dzongkhag court.
The clip was leaked when the computer belonging to the couple was taken for repair.
The case was taken up by the police after the clip was circulating fast, causing concerns among people.
The Penal Code of Bhutan states that a person will be guilty of computer pornography if he or she publishes and distributes an obscene photograph or picture on the computer or over the internet, or is an internet service provider, who knowingly acts as a host for pornographic material or acts as a channel for the image to be transmitted to an individual user.
Police said the three arrested will be charge sheeted for defamation and intrusion into others’ privacy, among others.
Meanwhile, five more Bhutanese porn clips are circulating in the market through mobile phones.
