Parliament session begins today

His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo will address the joint sitting of the third session of parliament
today.
The annual report on the state of the nation, including legislative plans and the annual plans and priorities of the government, will be presented on the first day.
Besides Civil Service Bill and Local Government Bill, which are placed under the urgent category, the parliament
will discuss the Royal Bhutan Police Bill, Prison Bill of Bhutan, Waste Prevention faceand Management Bill, Service Conditions for the Holders of Constitutional Office Bill, Tobacco Control Bill, Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan Bill, and Standards Bill of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
The National Council will propose amendments to the Penal Code and Civil and Criminal Procedures Code of Bhutan.
The parliament will also discuss miscellaneous issues related to education, air route and establishment of a care centre for disabled people.
There will also be a joint sitting to resolve disagreements, if any, between the National Council and the National Assembly on the Police Bill, Prison Bill, Waste Prevention and Management Bill, Livestock Act, Cooperative Act, Zhaptog Lemi Chathrim, Civil Service Bill, Local Government Bill and the Service Conditions for the Holders of Constitutional Office Bill.
