The IMF today commended the strong economic performance of Bhutan and said its interest rates should be appropriately adjusted to that of India to avoid unwarranted pressures on rupee reserves. Bhutanese students in Bangalore, India, say they spend more than what they learn. They stay on their own, in groups or individually. Four students living in a posh apartment with one hall, two bed rooms and a kitchen (2HBK) pays at least Rs 6,000 as rent. The construction of the first lhakhang in Gopini village in Tsirang has been stalled after the contractor disappeared from the worksite for the past two months.
