None of the above. The pay hike for the politicians along with the Civil Servants is not justified because simply it is not fair. The politicians and higher grade civil servants who least need the pay hike is getting the most while the poorer lower level civil servants are getting the least.

Pay hike? Good for the all Bhutanese to meet the demand curve of the market, finally a fat Range Rover or a fat chicken.
I wonder where does the money comes from? Is it a people’s money or the government’s?

For a Least Developed Country like Bhutan, which practically depends on foreign aid for everything, pay hike for MPs is a great insullt to the majority (75%) of the of Bhutanese population who do back-breaking work on the farms and yet barely able to meet the basic necessities. Let us remember, the reports from UN and also from our CSO, that 23% of the Bhutanese live with less than one dollar a day. DPT’s election promise of equity and justice is a sham.

I don’t satified in pay hike for all civil servants. Why small & big concerned has making different pay hike. The DPT should be think more. If there is no equity & justice. No need to make GNH.

As a Buddhist country , learn how to share equally with others.
    No malpractices.
As a Democratic Nation, let all the people vote for the pay hike.

i think they are well paid and there is no use for pay hike..even though not having much knowledge about this, still i would say they are being paid fairly and people should look up on civil servants who suffer without the politician knowledge. spend government’s money for social cause and social rights rather than for already stomach filled politician. Grow up governments and give equal importance to everyone.

everyone should be given according to the work each individual do and on top of that teachers and healthworkers should be taken into account as pay according to their work

Lets wait and see what they(Politicians) have to say during winter session…and hope they won’t demand more than what have been proposed. Simply ridiculous! I read somewhere in the news and one MP had said that he was wondering if politician should consider minimum pay hike…..that may be appropriate..take decision wisely la…Let protect our Country and build it more stronger!!!

Better sacked all Pay Comission Members. Who are these pay commission members? I am pretty sure that don’t understand the ECONOMICS.

The word equity and and justices is not fair with the new pay hike. Every people have great hope from the new government. whats wrong with the new pay hike. Everybody knows that after the pay hike, the price of commodities are highly increased. May they take second chance to increase the price of commodities. I would like to suggest, the word equity and justices should be in pay hike on be half of PRIME MINISTER….

it is really alarming to see the recomendations of the pay commission’s pay hike. And there are people who merely earn Nu.3000-4000 a month. Plez. look onto these groups instead of the ministers and politicians. these is a real buddhistic approach and “Dra Nyam Dand Drang Den” the slogan of DPT during the election. It seems they have forgotten their promisses.

    Hi readers
Does it mean that, No one has right to say except the member from Pay commission?
Why not you guys apply the sense of real democracy? Be loyal as per the lands traditions but too loyal with lots of Dasho’s would ruin your own life in this modern world.
For the Dasho’s they don’t care because their future and family are already secured, wit big houses, land and better education.
Freedom of speech is not only the principle of democracy but I guess as a Buddhist Nation too.

yayayayaya payment for political is more than what they serve the tsa-wa sum,
most of the political people are still in thimphu just playing soccer and enjoying there life. do all of them are remembering what they promise during kueldra?

To till now i havn’t seen any improvements in the developing of the country and i am sured that they couldn’t till now made the justification of their own worthles work and the oath taken by them to the innocent people in the rural areas. The Government running under them is almost more than a year and to till this date they made their egoistic complain about the need of their own necessity like Kabneys,Patangs etc.

So if it is like that its not such necessary to raise their pay along with the civil servant rather then if those budgets given to them and force them to use in the specfic field with special auditing.
