    No, how can civil service be compromised due to formation of committees. This shows that people have limited understanding of how democractic parliaments work. The committees would make sure that civil servants answer to the parliament directly. This is a good arrangements.

    How can it not when civil servants will become puppets in the hands of the so called committees (which by the way is suppose to be apolitical). The key word I smell is “control”. Simply put the government wants control the civil servants. This stunt just exposes the shallowness of the MP’s not thinking beyond their term in office.
