Memories of Campus Life
My entire schooling and college life was spent on campus. While, especially as a child I missed home, many years away from the protection and security of home life during the formative years of my life has been most rewarding. I learnt to fend for myself, to chose and make friends, team work etc. All in all, it was a very rewarding experience.

Most Memorable Day in Campus Life
In those years, the 1960s and 70s, soccer was a very popular sport in the Darjeeling and Kalimpong area. North Point always had good teams made up of players from college, school and staff. As children in the school, our dream was to be selected for the North Point A team and to don the sky and navy blue shirt of the team. In 1968, while in class IX, the soccer season had just begun and I was called by Mr. Chandan Singh, a former member of the Indian Olympic team and a staff of our school and captain of the North Point team for many years and told that I had been selected for the team. My dream of many years had come true. That year we won all the major tournament in Darjeeling and I played for the team till I left the school, three years later. Those were the days.

Message to Students

Life after school is becoming increasingly challenging and competitive. Use your time in school and colleges to prepare for the challenges ahead. Please remember, there is no substitute to hard work.

So make the best use of your years in school to acquire wholesome education and to build yourself, physically and mentally. Study hard and at the same time, take part in extracurricular activities such as games and sports.

While we must stress on the value and need to study hard, I want to add that the time you spend on game will also be time well spent and you will value what you learn. Besides a healthy body, you will learn the value of team work, that success comes only through hard work, how to deal with victories as well as defeats. In short, you will learn to deal with the challenges of life while still at school or college. Sure way to succeed in the life ahead of you.

With my best wishes and warm Tashi Delek to all our children.
