Bara gewog ‘s 600 households make their demands

15 August 2008

Sir,
Bara gewog is in need of the following development programmes. Motorable roads: Bara gewog is isolated. A motorable road could link the gewog with Tendu gewog which shall enhance betterment of the concerned community.

Electricity: Electrification of the gewog is one of the most important development programmes that we long for. School: Our children have to stay in other gewogs or drungkhag to continue their higher studies, which in itself is very difficult. If present school is upgraded, the rate of school drop-outs will also decline. Health: Construction of a Grade 1 BHU is very essential for our gewog. Health of the citizen is the Health of Nation. Agriculture: Fertilizers/pest control, crop management and other relevant information regarding agriculture has to be disseminated to the farmers. Irrigation channels are to be constructed High Quality seeds are required for high and better production yield.

RNR centre is also one of our important requirements. Animal Husbandry: Portion of attention is also required on the Animal Husbandry Sector.

Marketing of Crops: A government owned marketing agency is required for cash crop/food crops marketing which will indeed enable our farmers to earn what they deserve. Census: Around 30% to 35% of the total population is not included in the census record. 100% registration in census should be made immediately for the fulfilment of “One Nation One People.”

Excess Land: Excess land should be allowed to purchase by any interested buyers. Cardamom: Previous plantation was completely destroyed due to disease and pest. There is a need of low interest government fund/loan for new plantation without which, the farmers cannot do the re-plantations. Drinking Water Supply: House to house drinking water supply scheme is very essential.

Each and every household should be constructed with a suitable latrine and bathroom. Surroundings of every house should be kept hygienically clean is also very essential. If done so, 80% of communicable diseases are eradicated.
