bO Observation: Jolly good luck!

28 April 2008

I want to believe we are all living well. But that arouses suspicion. We just need to glance at the news; both town and country. There’s enough fodder there for a regurgitating mammal to contemplate upon and enact. Now let’s look at news concerning the countryside; a villager, a farmer and the rest of that accursed tribe.

They really do seem to inhabit a different realm; a realm of “no-ghos.” We don’t like going there and they never have enough ghos. A case of mutual consensus, one could conclude. You stay neglected; we’ll throw in the humane line.

The affluent lot, stricken by luxurious burdens, looks at these sorry stories and dismisses it as thus: unfortunate. The considerate bunch goes: I did not know!

For the third conglomerate franchises, it’s just an alien theme called, “boring.”

This in a kingdom of less than a million. Where, if unnecessary studies and scientific observations were to be carried out, might unearth cases incestuous. But that’s exaggerating and amoral. What’s not is the fact that we cannot be dismissive. It’s asking, “Are you aware of your apathy?”

In Punakha, an old man, bent with age and hardship, spends his time spinning the mani in a school. He survives on the meals the school dishes out. He was once a contender. Now he’s just an “old man with the mani.” God does have a sense of humour. It’s called irony. The old man’s only wish is to die well, but he’d welcome a few roses along the path; one being financial.

Mani and money! Here is a case of Siamese twins separated at conception.

But certainly enjoined in politics – but that bit is also done, along with the hymns and psalms sung to the almighty and the laity. Now that they wallow in hallow halls, let’s see how many rural concerns they espouse. The paeans being made right now are directly proportionate to their individual and collective sense and scale of “self-aggrandizement.”

With the exception of A, B and C; here’s a prayer those chosen alphabets do not forget, “The Word.”

Because maintaining Mount Rushmore is getting expensive and exclusive. Rather jaded for the folks that built it. Talks on real concerns made in an altruistic or objective sense to the needs of the downtrodden is yet to be heard.

Jolly good luck appears to be the notice hanging in blue and white.
