12 December 2008

Trongsa ta-dzongThe new five-storied Ta Dzong Museum in Trongsa was inaugurated by His Majesty the King on December 10. The museum contains must-see displays such as the Raven Crown of the First Druk Gyalpo, the spoken statues of Dorji Chang or Vajradhara, Gongsar Jigme Namgyel’s extraordinarily long sword which suggests his tall stature, and a 500-year-old jacket and robe of Ngagi Wangchuck.
