10 killed in accident

Phuntsholing: In an accident, at around 3 pm on June 25, that circumvented every existing traffic regulation, 10 people were killed and seven injured with severe head injuries and fractures.
A Maruti van jam-packed with 17 passengers went off the road and plunged about 40 ft below in between Pasakha and Paktsina in Phuentsholing because the driver was drunk and arguing with his wife when the accident took place.
Among the deceased were a two-week-old baby, one PP class boy and one class two boy. Of the seven injured, one passenger with critical head injuries had to be referred to a hospital in Siliguri.
The driver, who was visibly drunk, had his wife and ninemonth daughter in the front seat. He kept picking up more and more passengers, stuffing them in the front, middle and the boot until there were 17 people in the van. All were known to him.
“The moment I opened the door I was thrown out of the vehicle. I searched for my son but to no avail. I am sure that my son passed away,” said Sonam Zam, 21, from Paktsina, the mother of the twoweek- old baby.
The surviving passengers said that the driver, who was drunk, had forced them into the van. “We were forced to come inside his taxi even though it was already filled with passengers. I refused to enter his car but the driver grabbed my hand and my late baby; we were compelled to travel in his car,” said Sonam Zam.
The taxi driver, Ram Bahadur, and his wife were killed in the accident but their daughter survived with head injuries.
Most of the passengers were villagers from Paktsina geog in Chukha Dzongkhag. Since there were fewer taxis travelling to Paktsina, the passengers were obliged to travel in Ram Bahadur’s taxi.
“It was mainly because of intoxication that the driver overloaded his car with passengers. Being unable to curb the speed the accident occurred,” said Lekhi, a traffic police.
Traffic rules forbid taxis from carrying more than four passengers, excluding the driver. A fine of Nu 500 is imposed for every extra passenger.

why this kind of Driver is born on the Earth?This kind of accident occurs or will occur again if this kind of cow dung driver and follish people are still there?Driver should not drink while driving(when they are doing their work). And also the drivers they drive in such a hurry or a speed that they dont see what is infront of them.When one person is killed they say something came infront of me and the accidently this happened.
